    Production Method

     

    It is obtained by reacting m-cresol with isobutylene in the presence of aluminum trichloride. The reaction is carried out in concentrated sulfuric acid at a reaction temperature of 310-320 °C. After the reaction is completed, the product is obtained by neutralization and distillation.

    Application

    Organic synthesis, used as an antioxidant for polyethylene, polypropylene, ABS resin and petroleum products, and also an intermediate for phenolic antioxidant CA, antioxidant 300, and antioxidant BBM.
