Sodium Isopropyl Xanthate SIPX (CAS 140-93-2) is slight yellow or grey yellow free flowing powder or pellet and soluble in water, pungent odor. Sodium Isopropyl Xanthate (SIPX) is mainly used in the flotation of nonferrous metallic sulfide minerals as a collector.Sodium Isopropyl Xanthate (SIPX) is also used as precipitant in hydrometallurgical processes and as sulfidation promoter of rubber.

Sodium Isopropyl Xanthate (SIPX) is used as an herbicide, fortifying agent for certain oils, and flotation reagent for base and precious metal ores;
Sodium Isopropyl Xanthate (SIPX) is used as a rubber curing agent and antioxidant, pesticide and fungicide, and high-pressure lubricant additive;
Sodium Isopropyl Xanthate (SIPX) is also used for analytical procedures, for froth flotation in soils contaminated with mercury, and in the past as an intermediate for saccharin.

Applications:

Sodium Isopropyl Xanthate (SIPX) is typically used when the collector needs to be stronger than SEX without compromising too much on selectivity, for instance in some copper-gold, copper-zinc and nickel operations. It is therefore used for flotation of almost all sulphide minerals where high selectivity is not required. It can be successfully applied at flotation of sulphide minerals containing gold, silver or native gold in the process of selective flotation of zinc mineral, after activating of sphalerite or mormolite by copper sulphate.
