    Demulsifier Working Principle

    In the flotation process, sometimes in order to improve the dispersion and flotation effect of the agent (such as collector), it is necessary to first add an emulsifier to emulsify the agent; some of the ore dressing agent itself is easy to be emulsified, and the emulsified foam in the pulp will Affect the post-step process, causing the loss of concentrate overflow or the pollution of tailings wastewater to the river. For this reason, a demulsifier is added for treatment in the above case. When using a demulsifier, the pH of the emulsion should be adjusted first. For a strong base or a strong acid emulsion, the pH should be adjusted to a range of 1 to 10. In the wastewater treatment of oily emulsions in the petroleum, chemical, wool and mechanical processing industries, in addition to physical demulsification methods (such as heating, membrane separation, electric field demulsification), demulsifiers are also commonly used for chemical treatment. . Commonly used demulsifiers are highly dispersible mixtures of various components. For the emulsion of oil-in-water emulsions, inorganic materials with cations such as H+, Al3+, and Fe3+ are usually used as demulsifiers, such as inorganic acids, iron sulfate, etc., and for water-in-oil emulsions, Anionic and nonionic surfactants or mixtures of the two are generally employed as demulsifiers. 
    Since some solids are hardly soluble in water, when one or more of these solids are present in a large amount in an aqueous solution, these solids may be present in an emulsified state in water under the agitation of hydraulic or external power to form an emulsion. In theory, this system is unstable, but if there are some surfactants (soil particles, etc.), the emulsified state is very serious, even the two phases are difficult to separate, the most typical is the oil-water mixture in the oil-water separation. As well as the water-oil mixture in the sewage treatment, a relatively stable water-in-oil or oil-in-water structure is formed in the two phases, and the theoretical basis is "electric double layer structure".
    In this case, some agents are put in order to destroy the stable electric double layer structure and stabilize the emulsifying system, thereby achieving the purpose of two-phase separation. These agents used to achieve destructive emulsification are referred to as demulsifiers.

    The Application of Demulsifier 

    1. The product can be continuously injected via a trace plunger pump or be injected after dilution.

    2. To two-level and two-level above electrical desalting devices, both first grade injection and graded injection are available, and the amount of the injected first grade demulsifier should be no less than half the amount of the total injection amount.

    3. The amount of the injected demulsifier product is different according to different properties, or water-containing amount and salt-containing amounts of the crude oil. Usually, 20 to 50ppmm of demulsifier is injected according to processing amount of the crude oil.
